Melville Map Poster & Print
Melville is a hamlet in the Town of Huntington, in Suffolk County near the Nassau line. From above it is defined less by a historic centre than by movement. The Long Island Expressway and the Northern State Parkway cross it from east to west, and Route 110 runs north to south through a long corridor of offices, hotels and parking.
Between those arteries lie residential pockets built mostly in the later twentieth century, with looping roads, cul-de-sacs and generous lots. Wooded parkland and open grounds break up the pattern. The area is known as a business hub for Long Island and is home to a number of corporate headquarters, yet much of it remains green and low-rise.
A Melville map poster captures a very modern kind of place. It shows the strong parallel strokes of the expressway and parkway, the interchanges where they meet Route 110, and the finer, curling lines of neighbourhood streets in the spaces between. It is a map of the suburban Long Island where many people actually live and work.

Expressway crossings
The Long Island Expressway and the Northern State Parkway cut across in near-parallel lines, and their cloverleaf interchanges add looping shapes to the map.
Curving subdivisions
Residential areas are laid out with winding roads and cul-de-sacs. They give the quieter parts of the poster a soft, organic texture against the straight highways.

Zakaj Melville
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
Melville is often where a career started, where a family bought its first house, or the exit you took every day for years. A map of it records the ordinary geography of a life on Long Island, which is often the geography people end up missing.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a street, an office or a move-in date, and pick Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The HD files cost $9 and cover six print sizes, each as a 300 DPI PNG and a print-ready PDF.
