Mountain View Map Poster & Print
Mountain View lies on the flat plain of the Santa Clara Valley, between Palo Alto and Sunnyvale, with San Francisco Bay to the north and the Santa Cruz Mountains rising to the south-west. The map divides into clear bands running parallel to the bay: residential neighbourhoods around El Camino Real, a downtown along the railway, and a broad zone of campuses and parkland north of US-101.
Downtown Mountain View centres on Castro Street, a walkable strip of restaurants and shops ending at the Caltrain station. North of the highway lies the Googleplex, the headquarters of Google, surrounded by other technology offices. The Computer History Museum sits nearby, and the city is closely tied to the story of Silicon Valley, from early semiconductor firms to today's internet companies.
At the bay's edge, Shoreline Park and the Shoreline Amphitheatre sit on former landfill, surrounded by marshes, sloughs and ponds. To the east, the airfield of Moffett Field and NASA Ames Research Center adds long runways and a giant airship hangar. A Mountain View map poster frames all of this, from quiet streets to open water.

Shoreline marshes
Toward the bay, the city dissolves into sloughs, ponds and wetland, with irregular water shapes and trails that soften the map's northern edge.
Moffett Field
The former naval air station, now home to NASA Ames, shows as long straight runways and a huge hangar footprint beside the city.
