Mulchén Map Poster & Print
Mulchén lies in the Biobío region of south-central Chile, in the agricultural land between the Central Valley and the foothills of the Andes. Like many Chilean towns founded in the nineteenth century, it is organised around a regular grid of square blocks with a central plaza, and the map shows that order clearly against the looser pattern of the countryside.
Rivers shape the edges of the town, cutting through the farmland in winding lines that eventually feed into the Biobío. Around Mulchén, fields, plantation forests and rural roads fill the landscape, with the Andes rising further east. The contrast between straight town streets and meandering water gives the composition its character.
A Mulchén map poster is a personal object for families from the town and for those who have since moved to Concepción, Santiago or abroad. Paper suits the grid with the warmth of an old town plan, while Blueprint highlights the rivers and makes the composition feel precise and measured.
