Small plots and short lanes fill most of the district. Together they form a fine, repeating grid that gives the poster rich texture.

New Jeshwang Map Poster & Print
New Jeshwang is part of the urban area around Banjul in The Gambia, in the Kanifing municipality near Serrekunda. It is one of the neighbourhoods that has grown quickly as the country's main urban region has expanded. From above, it is a dense, fairly regular pattern of plots and lanes on flat ground.
The streets here are mostly short and close together, many of them unpaved, with a few larger roads carrying traffic towards Serrekunda, Banjul and the coast. Compounds fill the blocks between them. Surrounding districts flow into one another without a clear boundary, and the map reads as a continuous urban fabric.
A New Jeshwang map poster captures the intimacy of a neighbourhood where everyone knows the lanes. The dense grid of blocks, the main roads crossing through and the wider city around them make a detailed, honest portrait of everyday life in Greater Banjul.
