Tundra lakes
Many small lakes pock the flat interior, creating a fine pattern of shapes across the island that becomes especially clear at large print sizes.

New Siberia Map Poster & Print
New Siberia is one of the New Siberian Islands, an archipelago lying between the Laptev Sea and the East Siberian Sea, far off the northern coast of Yakutia in Russia. It is low, flat and uninhabited, a landscape of tundra, permafrost and countless small lakes. From above the island is broad and compact, with a smooth, gently curving shoreline shaped by ice and shallow seas.
The archipelago has long drawn scientists because its frozen soils preserve bones and remains of mammoths and other Ice Age animals. Its islands are a mix of low tundra and exposed sediment, and much of the surrounding sea is frozen for most of the year.
A New Siberia map poster is minimal by nature. There are no roads or towns, only the island's outline, its scattered lakes and the sea around it. The result looks almost like an abstract drawing: a low pale shape dotted with water, set within the wider group of islands of the far Russian Arctic.

Smooth coastline
The low shoreline curves gently rather than breaking into fjords or cliffs, giving the island a soft, rounded silhouette against the shallow sea.
An Arctic archipelago
New Siberia is part of a group of islands between two seas, and a wider framing brings its neighbours into view as a scatter of low shapes.

Zakaj New Siberia
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
This is a map for people fascinated by the Arctic, Ice Age science and the far edges of the map. Its emptiness is the point: a clean, contemplative image that works well in a study or a minimal interior.
Set your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, and choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Classic and Paper both keep the island's quiet, pale character.
