Noāmundi Map Poster & Print
Noāmundi lies in West Singhbhum district in the southwest of Jharkhand, close to the border with Odisha, in a region of hills and forest rich in iron ore. Mining shapes the map. A planned company township with regular streets and open spaces sits beside an older market area, and the mine workings and haul roads spread across the ridges nearby.
Tata Steel has mined iron ore at Noāmundi since the 1920s, which makes it one of the company's oldest captive mines, and the ore is carried by rail to its steelworks. Nearby lie the Saranda forests, a large expanse of sal woodland in the surrounding hills. Industry and forest side by side give the area a very distinctive character.
A Noāmundi map poster records a working landscape. The ordered streets of the township contrast with the irregular terraces of the mines, the railway draws a firm line through the scene, and forested hills close in around the edges. In black and white it becomes a striking, almost architectural image, and it means a great deal to families who have lived and worked here.

Mine workings
Open-cast mining has cut stepped benches and haul roads into the nearby hills. The bold, layered shapes stand out sharply on the poster.
Ore railway
A railway line and sidings carry iron ore out of the area. They link Noāmundi to the wider steel industry and run as a clear line across the map.
