North Battleford Map Poster & Print
North Battleford stands on the high north bank of the North Saskatchewan River in west-central Saskatchewan. Across the river valley lies the Town of Battleford, and together they are known as the Battlefords. From above, the city is a clear prairie grid that stops abruptly at the valley edge, where the land drops towards the water.
Battleford, across the river, served as the capital of the North-West Territories in the late nineteenth century, while North Battleford grew after the railway came through on its side of the river. The Yellowhead Highway passes the city today, linking it to Saskatoon to the south-east and to Alberta in the west.
A North Battleford map poster shows the contrast between the rigid, orderly streets on the plateau and the winding river and coulees below. The bridges across the valley link the two communities, and the river's broad curve gives the lower part of the composition an organic, flowing line.

The Battlefords
North Battleford and Battleford face each other across the valley, and the map shows how the bridges and highway connect two distinct street patterns into one community.
Prairie grid
The city is laid out in regular rectangular blocks typical of western Canadian railway towns, producing a clean, ordered texture that prints sharply in black and white.
