Notting Hill Map Poster & Print
Notting Hill is easy to spot on a map of west London because its streets stop being straight. On the Ladbroke Estate, laid out in the nineteenth century around the brow of a low hill, crescents and curved terraces circle each other, and many enclose large communal gardens shared by the surrounding houses. The pattern survives from plans made after a short-lived racecourse on the site closed.
To the east, Portobello Road runs north from Notting Hill Gate, and its Saturday antiques market is one of the best known in London. Pembridge Road and Westbourne Grove add a looser grid, and Kensington Gardens lies just to the south-east. Every August the Notting Hill Carnival fills these streets.
A Notting Hill map poster captures the rhythm of those concentric crescents. The enclosed gardens appear as soft, rounded shapes inside rings of streets, giving the print a calm, almost botanical pattern that is quite unlike the grids of most city districts.

Communal gardens
Large private gardens sit behind the terraces, enclosed on all sides by houses. On the map they appear as open shapes cradled inside the curves of the streets.
Portobello Road
The long market street runs north from Notting Hill Gate, a slightly winding line that ties the residential crescents to the busier streets around it.

Zakaj Notting Hill
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
Notting Hill is a place people remember in detail: a particular terrace, a Saturday on Portobello Road, a flat overlooking a garden square. The curving streets make the map feel personal and decorative at once.
Add a title such as a street name or a year, a subtitle and your coordinates, then choose from five styles. Paper and Sand suit the pastel terraces, while Classic black and white shows the crescents most sharply.
