The railway line
Tracks cross the town in a long straight run, dividing the plan and anchoring the composition, with the station area widening the line where the town first took shape.

Nurlat Map Poster & Print
Nurlat lies in the south of Tatarstan, not far from the republic's southern border, in gently rolling country of fields and scattered woods. The town grew around a station on the railway, and the line still runs through it as the clearest single stroke on the map, with much of the street plan arranged along its course.
Away from the tracks the plan is simple and legible: long parallel streets, rectangular blocks of low houses with gardens, and a few districts of larger apartment buildings. At the edges the town dissolves quickly into field boundaries and country roads, which gives a Nurlat map poster a clear outline against a pale surrounding landscape.
The surrounding district belongs to the oil-producing south of Tatarstan, and that working landscape extends well beyond the town. Small rivers and ponds wind through the low ground nearby, adding a few irregular lines to an otherwise orderly composition of streets, rail and farmland.

Parallel streets
Long residential streets run side by side in a steady rhythm, forming a calm, regular texture typical of small towns across the Volga region.
Fields at the edge
The town ends sharply where farmland begins, so the built-up area stands out as a compact shape surrounded by open space and the thin lines of rural roads.
