Thermal power station
The large plant grounds, with their rail lines, coal handling areas and service roads, form a strong geometric block on the map, clearly separate from the residential areas.

Obra Map Poster & Print
Obra lies in the Sonbhadra district of southeastern Uttar Pradesh, in the wooded, hilly country close to the borders of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand. The town grew around energy production, and its plan reflects that: planned residential colonies, wide internal roads and the extensive grounds of the power station, all set among low hills.
The Obra Thermal Power Station, one of the larger coal-fired plants in the state, is the town's reason for being. Nearby, the Obra Dam on the Rihand River creates a reservoir used for hydroelectric generation, and the surrounding region, sometimes called the energy capital of Uttar Pradesh, hosts several other power projects and mining operations.
An Obra map poster presents a distinctive industrial landscape. The planned colonies form tidy residential blocks, the plant grounds add large geometric shapes with cooling structures and rail sidings, and the reservoir and river break the composition with a broad, irregular body of water. Beyond, hills and forest leave the edges open.

Rihand reservoir
The Obra Dam holds back the Rihand River, forming a reservoir whose irregular outline brings a softer, natural shape into an otherwise engineered composition.
Planned colonies
Residential colonies for power station staff are laid out in regular streets and blocks, giving parts of the town a neat, orderly pattern among the hills.

Zakaj Obra
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
Many families spent years in Obra's colonies while working at the power station. A map of the town preserves that chapter, the school route, the colony streets, the reservoir, and makes a fitting gift for retirement or a reunion.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with a colony name or the years you lived there, and choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint suits the town's engineering character.
