Patterson Map Poster & Print
Patterson is unusual among Central Valley towns because it was not laid out as a simple grid. When the town was founded in 1909 on land belonging to the Patterson family, planners gave it a circular central plaza with avenues radiating outward. From above, that star-shaped core stands out clearly from the rectangular blocks and farm roads that surround it.
The town sits on the west side of the San Joaquin Valley, where the flat valley floor meets the foothills of the Diablo Range. Interstate 5, the Delta-Mendota Canal and the California Aqueduct all run along the base of the hills, making long parallel lines on the map. The San Joaquin River meanders past a few miles to the east.
Patterson calls itself the Apricot Capital of the World and holds an annual Apricot Fiesta, and orchards still fill much of the land around town. A Patterson map poster captures the unusual radial plan, the ruled lines of canals and highway, and the regular pattern of orchard blocks spreading across the valley floor.

Canals and freeway
Two major water channels and Interstate 5 run side by side along the western foothills. These long, nearly parallel lines give the map a strong edge.
Orchard country
Around the town, square farm parcels and straight roads divide the land. Many of these parcels are planted with apricots, almonds and other tree crops.

Zakaj Patterson
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
A radial town plan is rare in rural California, and Patterson's circle makes a striking centrepiece on a wall. The poster suits residents, families who have farmed the area for generations, and anyone who likes an unusual street plan.
Change the title, subtitle and coordinates line to suit, perhaps with a move-in date or a family name. Blueprint shows off the geometry of the plan, and Sand suits the dry valley palette. HD files cost $9 in six print sizes, including 18×24″ and 24×36″, and printed posters come with an optional wooden frame.
