Two village cores
The town grew from the former villages of Pontault and Combault, and their original centres can still be traced within the wider suburban layout.

Pontault-Combault Map Poster & Print
Pontault-Combault lies in Seine-et-Marne, on the eastern edge of the Île-de-France conurbation. On a map it is a mix of suburban patterns. Streets of detached houses sit beside larger residential estates, and woodland and open space form the edges of the town.
The commune takes its name from two former villages, Pontault and Combault, which grew together into one town as the Paris region expanded. The N4 national road runs through the area toward eastern France, and the RER E line links the town to central Paris. Forests nearby give the southern and eastern edges a greener feel.
A Pontault-Combault map poster shows a typical outer-Paris suburb in fine detail. There are dense residential streets, larger blocks where estates and shopping areas stand, and patches of woodland around them. The main roads and rail line cross it as strong straight lines.
