Chicago Executive Airport
Owned jointly by Prospect Heights and Wheeling, the airport's intersecting runways are the strongest geometric element on the map, a set of crisp lines against the surrounding housing.

Prospect Heights Map Poster & Print
Prospect Heights lies in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, in Cook County, and was incorporated as a city in 1976. On a map it is mostly residential, with winding streets, cul-de-sacs and generous lots that break from the strict Chicago grid. The Des Plaines River runs along its eastern side and brings a ribbon of wooded forest preserve land into the frame.
The most striking feature from above is Chicago Executive Airport, which the city owns jointly with neighbouring Wheeling. Its crossing runways cut clean lines through the northern part of the map, in sharp contrast to the soft curves of the subdivisions around it. A few arterial roads cross the area on long straight lines and stitch it to the surrounding suburbs.
A Prospect Heights map poster captures that contrast between engineered and organic shapes. Runways, arterial roads and the meandering river sit on one side, and looping residential streets on the other. It works as a personal piece for residents and as a quiet, graphic study of how postwar American suburbs were laid out. In black and white, the airport reads almost like an abstract drawing.

Des Plaines River corridor
Along the eastern side, the river bends through forest preserve land. This soft, unbuilt band frames the residential streets and adds a natural line to the composition.
Curving subdivisions
Instead of a grid, much of the city is made of looping streets and cul-de-sacs, which give the map a patterned, almost textile quality at close range.

Zakaj Prospect Heights
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
People often choose Prospect Heights deliberately, for its space and its quiet streets. A map of it can mark a first house, a childhood address or a move to the Chicago suburbs, and the airport gives the design an unusual graphic anchor.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with a street name or the year you moved in, and pick one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The Blueprint style suits the runways particularly well.
