Older town core
At the centre, short, winding lanes form a dense knot, which is typical of a settlement that grew gradually around its original village before modern planning arrived.

Qalansuwa Map Poster & Print
Qalansuwa sits in the Triangle, the band of Arab towns along the eastern side of Israel's coastal plain where the flat farmland begins to rise toward the Samarian hills. From above, the town is a dense cluster of short, irregular streets around an older centre. Newer neighbourhoods reach out along the roads that link it to nearby towns, and the edges give way to fields.
Seen in black and white, the plan shows how the town has grown. Close to the centre, narrow lanes bend and branch as older villages tend to do. Further out, the blocks become more regular and houses stand on individual plots. Main roads cut through this pattern in a few firm lines, and open ground and cultivated land fill the spaces between Qalansuwa and its neighbours.
A Qalansuwa map poster works best for someone who knows the town street by street. The drawing leaves out labels and colour and keeps only the network of roads and the outline of the built-up area, so the composition comes from how the place grew. It suits a family home, an office or a gift for someone who has moved away.

Edge of the plain
The town lies where the Sharon plain meets the first rise of the hills, so open farmland surrounds the built-up area on the map.
Linking roads
A few main roads run through the street pattern and tie Qalansuwa to the other towns of the Triangle and to the wider road network of central Israel.
