Flat terrain
The surrounding North Jiangsu plain has almost no hills, so the map is shaped by roads, fields and settlements rather than by contours or ridgelines.

Qishan Map Poster & Print
Qishan lies in the far north of Jiangsu province, in the broad lowland near Xuzhou where the land is almost entirely flat. On a map, this kind of terrain shows up as a scatter of villages joined by straight country roads, with the town itself forming a denser knot where several of those roads meet.
Because the plain offers so little relief, the human layout does most of the drawing. Field boundaries, irrigation ditches and village lanes tend to run in parallel lines, and the built-up area grows outward from its main streets in a fairly regular way. The result is a map that feels orderly and quiet, defined by rhythm rather than by dramatic landmarks.
A Qishan map poster works well for anyone with family roots in the area or memories of a particular street. The subtle grid of roads and the fine texture of surrounding farmland translate cleanly into monochrome, where small differences in line weight separate the main roads from the paths between fields.

Regular road pattern
Country roads leading in and out of town tend to run straight across the landscape, giving the poster a calm, ruled appearance.
Rural fringe
Just beyond the built-up centre the pattern opens into farmland and small villages, which gives the town a clear outline against the countryside.
