Qorveh Map Poster & Print
Qorveh lies in the east of Iran's Kurdistan Province, on the high plateau between the provincial capital Sanandaj and the city of Hamadan. The town sits at considerable altitude, in a broad, open landscape of fields and low hills. Winters are cold and summers are dry. From above, it is a compact settlement surrounded by large areas of cultivated land.
The main road linking Sanandaj and Hamadan passes through the area and serves as the town's main axis. Newer districts are laid out in fairly regular blocks, while the older core is denser and more irregular. A Qorveh map poster shows that contrast clearly, without distractions: no coastline or large river competes with the street pattern itself.
Agriculture is central to life in the region, and the plains around Qorveh are widely farmed. That shows up on the map as a sparse network of rural roads and tracks leading out to surrounding villages. The picture is quiet and spacious, a highland town that takes up just part of a wide landscape.

Old core and new blocks
A denser, irregular centre sits next to newer districts laid out in more regular rectangles. You can clearly see the layers of the town's growth.
Open plateau
Around the town, sparse farm tracks cross wide, open land. They give the map plenty of empty space and a sense of altitude and distance.
