Block-plan centre
The town centre follows a grid of short blocks around a main square. This compact pattern contrasts with the open, irregular countryside around it.

Quimistán Map Poster & Print
Quimistán lies in the department of Santa Bárbara in western Honduras, in a broad valley between forested ranges. From above, the town is a small, orderly core of blocks laid out around a central square, as is typical of Honduran towns. Around it lies a much larger municipality of farms, villages and rural roads.
Agriculture shapes the map. The valley floor is divided into fields and pastures, and roads run straight across the flat ground before bending as they reach the hills. Streams come down from the slopes into the valley, and their tree-lined courses appear as irregular strokes cutting across the regular pattern of plots.
A Quimistán map poster suits a place whose identity is bound up with land and family. It records the square blocks of the town, the roads that link it to the surrounding villages and countryside, and the rising ground that closes the valley on either side, all reduced to clean monochrome line.

Valley farmland
Flat farmland fills the valley. Fences, tracks and tree lines divide it into fields and pastures and give the poster a calm, horizontal rhythm.
Mountain margins
Hills rise at the edges of the valley. Roads climb into them along winding routes, and settlements grow sparser as the ground gets steeper.
