The river bank
The Quixeramobim River runs past the historic centre. Its curve sets the orientation of the oldest streets and gives the poster a natural diagonal.

Quixeramobim Map Poster & Print
Quixeramobim is in the Sertão Central of Ceará, in Brazil's semi-arid northeast. The town grew along the Quixeramobim River, whose course is often reduced to a sandy bed outside the rainy season. On the map the river is still the organising line. The older streets sit close to its bank, and newer districts spread out across the flat ground beyond.
Water is precious here, and that shows from above. Reservoirs, known locally as açudes, dot the surrounding municipality as irregular dark shapes caught behind small dams. Roads leave the town toward Quixadá, Fortaleza and the inland, crossing the dry scrubland of the caatinga in long, lightly curving lines.
Quixeramobim is the birthplace of Antônio Conselheiro, the religious leader whose community at Canudos in Bahia became the centre of a war in the 1890s. A Quixeramobim map poster places that name back in its home landscape, a modest grid beside a seasonal river, surrounded by the open sertão.

Reservoirs
Açudes scattered around the municipality show as irregular pools. On the map they are small, strong shapes against a large, empty backdrop.
Roads into the sertão
Highways and tracks head out across the caatinga in several directions. They are long and sparse, and they emphasise how isolated and self-contained the town is.

Zakaj Quixeramobim
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
People from Quixeramobim often carry the sertão with them wherever they move. A map of the town's streets beside the river is a strong, simple way to keep that place visible, and it suits readers of Brazilian history just as well.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps with a family surname or the year you left home. Sand and Paper suit the dry landscape, and Noir gives it weight. The $9 HD files include six print sizes, and printed posters are also available.
