Irrigation tanks

Rāmāpuram Map Poster & Print
Rāmāpuram lies in the south of Andhra Pradesh, close to the border with Tamil Nadu, where the Deccan plateau starts to fall towards the plains of the east coast. From above, the town is a compact cluster of lanes around the roads that connect it to nearby places, with open farmland stretching out on every side.
This is dry, rocky country, and the map shows how people have always worked with scarce water. Traditional irrigation tanks, the shallow reservoirs typical of the region, appear as irregular shapes among the fields, and rocky outcrops break up the land in between. Roads bend around these features, so the street pattern is organic and follows the ground.
A Rāmāpuram map poster turns this landscape into a sparse, graphic composition. The town's dense centre sits in a wide frame of fields and water, and the curving roads give it a sense of movement. It makes a modest, honest portrait of a small South Indian town, drawn as it actually sits on the land.

Compact centre
The town's lanes pack tightly around the main roads, creating a small, dense core that contrasts clearly with the open country around it.
Rocky upland
Low hills and outcrops around the area push the roads into gentle curves, so the street network follows the terrain rather than a strict grid.
