The market core
A tight cluster of narrow, winding lanes marks the old commercial heart. On the map they form the darkest, busiest patch of the composition, and everything else fans out from there.

Rasrā Map Poster & Print
Rasrā is a town in Ballia district, in the far east of Uttar Pradesh, on the level alluvial country between the Ganges and the Ghaghara. From above it looks like a dense knot of short, irregular lanes. Roads from the surrounding villages lead into it, and a railway line runs past the town, giving the map one firm straight stroke among the softer curves.
Around the built-up core, the map opens into a patchwork of field boundaries, small ponds and village clusters that thin out toward the horizon. This is a river-shaped landscape, even where no river is drawn. Old channels, low embankments and the gentle drainage of the plain show up as faint lines. In black and white, those lines look almost like pencil sketching.
A Rasrā map poster suits someone who knows the town from the ground: the market streets, the station, the road home from a nearby village. Reduced to line work, the place loses its noise and dust and keeps only its structure. That structure is what a family remembers without ever having seen it drawn out on paper.

Railway line
The rail line crosses the plain in a long, unbroken stroke. Next to the town's irregular street pattern, it is the one clearly engineered line on the sheet.
Fields and ponds
Past the edge of town, small ponds and field divisions scatter across the plain. They give the outer part of the poster a quiet, even texture that frames the dense centre.

Zakaj Rasrā
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
People who grew up in or around Rasrā often live far from it now, in Lucknow, Delhi or abroad. A map of the town is a plain, dignified reminder of where a family comes from, and it works just as well in a home office as in a living room.
You can add a title in any script you like, a subtitle with a family name or year, and the coordinates line. Then pick Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Download the HD files for $9, or order a printed poster in matte paper, framed if you like.
