Ryazhsk Map Poster & Print
Ryazhsk lies in the south of Ryazan Oblast, in the flat farming country of central Russia. It is best known as a railway junction where important lines cross, and the railway shapes the map more than anything else. Long bundles of track, sidings and curves sweep through the town, dividing it into distinct districts.
The older part of town has a looser grid of streets lined with low houses, while larger blocks and industrial areas sit closer to the rail yards. The small Khupta River winds through the landscape, adding a soft curve to an otherwise geometric picture.
A Ryazhsk map poster brings out this interplay between rail and town. The fine parallel lines of the tracks and the broad arcs where lines diverge make for a striking graphic, and they tell the story of a place whose life has long depended on the railway.

Low-rise grid
Residential streets form a regular pattern of blocks lined with houses and gardens, typical of small towns in central Russia.
River and plain
A small river meanders past the town, and open farmland surrounds it. Together they soften the strong geometry of the railway.
