Rye is a small city in Westchester County, New York, on the northern shore of Long Island Sound. Its coastline is one of the most intricate in the area, broken into points, coves, inlets and salt marshes, so from above the edge of the land looks almost lace-like against the open water of the Sound.
Inland, the city is a mix of a small, walkable downtown near the railway station and residential areas along winding, tree-lined roads. Interstate 95 and the Metro-North line cross the city on parallel routes, while the approach to Interstate 287 lies close by to the north.
