Shawnee Map Poster & Print
Shawnee is a city in central Oklahoma, east of Oklahoma City, and the seat of Pottawatomie County. It was founded in the 1890s, when the land was opened to settlement, and grew quickly as a railway town. From above, it shows a classic American prairie grid: a downtown of regular blocks, residential streets extending outward and section-line roads running out into the surrounding farmland.
The North Canadian River passes north of the city in a wide, meandering course, and its wooded bottomland makes a soft, irregular band against the straight lines of the grid. Interstate 40 runs nearby, and railway lines cross the town at an angle. A Shawnee, Oklahoma map poster shows how the orderly grid meets these older and newer routes.
Shawnee is home to Oklahoma Baptist University, whose campus is a distinct green area on the map, and it is the headquarters of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation. The combination of downtown blocks, campus, river and highway gives the city a well-balanced composition, typical of the towns of Oklahoma and very recognisable to those who know them.

Zakaj Shawnee
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
Shawnee means home to many families and Oklahoma Baptist University graduates who spent formative years here. A map of the downtown grid, the campus and the river is a simple way to keep the city nearby.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be personalised with a graduation year, a wedding date or a family name. The map comes in five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Blueprint suits the grid.
