Roads curve to follow the contours of the low hills, producing a flowing street pattern rather than the rigid grid of plains cities.

Shuanghe Map Poster & Print
Shuanghe is in western Chongqing, in the rolling country near Rongchang, where low hills and small valleys cover the land. On a map the town is a compact settlement whose streets follow the terrain. Roads bend around rises, and lanes climb short slopes, so there are few long straight lines.
This part of Chongqing is farmland, with terraced plots, reservoirs and scattered hamlets between the towns. Around Shuanghe, rural roads spread out in all directions, linking villages and farmsteads. The town itself is the local centre where those roads come together.
A Shuanghe map poster shows the town at the scale where its streets and the farm roads beyond them can both be read. Irregular blocks at the centre give way to thin, winding lines through the fields. The result is a quiet image of a small town in hill country, with the ground shaping every road.
