Straight rural roads
Long, direct roads link the town with neighbouring villages. On the poster they form a strong framework of lines meeting at clear angles, typical of the North China Plain.

Zemljevid
Shunhe Map Poster & Print
Shunhe lies in the far northwest of Jiangsu, on the broad plain close to the borders with Shandong and Anhui. The land here is almost perfectly flat, and that is obvious from above. Roads run straight for long distances, fields are divided into regular strips, and the town itself sits as a compact cluster in an even, geometric landscape.
In this part of China, water is managed rather than wild. Narrow canals and drainage ditches cross the countryside in parallel lines, often following the roads, and ponds appear as small solid shapes near the villages. The built-up centre is denser, with its blocks lined up along the same straight directions as the surrounding fields.
The area belongs to the wider Xuzhou region, a crossroads of the North China Plain with a long farming history. A Shunhe map poster suits this kind of place well. The clean lines of roads, channels and field boundaries become the design itself, calm and orderly, with the town as a quiet focal point.

Canals and ditches
A network of channels runs through the fields, many parallel to the roads. In fine print they add a second, lighter layer of lines beneath the street pattern.
Compact town core
The built-up area is concentrated and fairly regular. It stands out against the open farmland like a small dense block, giving the composition a clear centre.

Zakaj Shunhe
