The old core
At the centre of the settlement is a dense knot of narrow, irregular lanes. It is the original village fabric, still easy to tell apart from the planned streets that grew up around it.

Siraspur Map Poster & Print
Siraspur is in North West Delhi, in the belt where the capital's old villages have been drawn into the growing city. Maps of places like this share a clear pattern. In the middle is the older settlement, a tight tangle of lanes. Around it spread newer residential colonies with more regular plots. Wider roads pass along the edges and link it to the rest of the city.
The contrast between these two textures is what makes the map interesting. The village core has short, irregular lanes that bend and branch, left over from a time when this was a rural settlement. The colonies around it are laid out in straighter rows. Here and there, open plots, fields or pieces of unbuilt land still break up the pattern, reminders of the farmland that once covered this part of Delhi.
A Siraspur map poster shows a neighbourhood at the edge of a megacity, still in the middle of changing. It is not a monument district, and the poster does not need to pretend otherwise. What it captures is the real street pattern of a place people call home: the lanes they walk every day, the main road they take into the city, and the blocks in between.

Colony grids
Newer residential areas surround the core in straighter, more regular blocks. They show how Delhi's expansion reached this village and wrapped around it.
Arterial edges
Wider roads run along the edges of the neighbourhood and tie it into the northern part of the city. On the sheet they are the heaviest lines.

Zakaj Siraspur
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
For families who have lived in Siraspur for generations, or who have just moved into one of its newer colonies, this map records a specific address in a vast city. It makes a personal gift, particularly for someone who has moved away from Delhi.
You can personalise the title and subtitle with a family name or a year, and change the coordinates line. There are five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Classic suits the dense lanes, and Paper gives a warmer finish.
