The market square
Skawina's rynek is a clear rectangle at the town centre, with a grid of short streets around it. The pattern is typical of towns founded under medieval Polish law.

Skawina Map Poster & Print
Skawina is a town in Lesser Poland, a short distance southwest of Kraków. Casimir the Great granted it town rights in the fourteenth century. Its historic core still follows that plan: a square market place with streets leading off its corners. The Skawinka river runs through the town and joins the Vistula to the north.
Beyond the old centre, the map shows the layers of a twentieth-century industrial town. Large factory and power plant sites have broad, simple outlines. Housing estates repeat the same building footprint across open ground, and railway lines curve in from Kraków. Toward the south and west, the built-up area gives way to fields and the first low hills of the Carpathian foothills.
A Skawina map poster places those periods side by side. The small, orderly market square sits at the centre, the river winds past, and the industrial and residential districts extend outward in their larger geometries. It is a portrait of a town that lives close to Kraków but has kept its own shape.

Skawinka river
The small river curves through the town toward the Vistula. On the map it separates the districts and adds a soft line that contrasts with the straight streets.
Industrial footprint
Large works sites and rail sidings take up substantial space at the edges of town. Their broad, blocky forms read strongly on a monochrome print.

For people from Skawina, and for those who commute from Kraków and have made a home here, the map shows a place that is often overlooked next to its larger neighbour. The square, the river and the familiar estates are all there.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line are all yours to edit. You could add a street name, a family name or a date. Choose Classic black and white for a crisp look, Paper for a softer one, or Blueprint to bring out the rivers and railways.
