Helderberg slopes
The town ends against the steep flank of the Helderberg, where streets stop and reserve land takes over, giving the poster a clear upper edge.

Somerset West Map Poster & Print
Somerset West lies on the eastern side of the Cape Town metropolitan area, where the flat land around False Bay meets the rising slopes of the Helderberg and the Hottentots-Holland Mountains. On a map the suburbs fan out below the mountains in curving residential streets, the N2 highway cuts across the lower ground, and the seafront of neighbouring Strand lies to the south.
Founded in 1822 and now part of the City of Cape Town, the town grew among farmland and wine estates. The best known is Vergelegen, established in 1700 by the Cape governor Willem Adriaan van der Stel and still producing wine today. The Helderberg Nature Reserve protects part of the mountain slope directly above the town.
A Somerset West map poster presents the contrast between mountain and sea in a single view: dense suburban loops at the foot of the slopes, open ground on the estates and reserve, the straight lines of the highway and the long curve of the bay. It is a map with a strong sense of setting, which the minimal style brings forward.

Wine estates
Large estates such as Vergelegen occupy broad open plots between the suburbs, their long driveways and field boundaries forming a quieter pattern on the map.
False Bay coast
Toward the south the land meets the curving shore of False Bay, a long clean coastline that frames the lower part of the composition.

Zakaj Somerset West
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
Somerset West is where many families have settled for the mix of mountain, sea and space, and where others grow up before moving abroad. A map of the town captures that setting in a way that suits a calm, light-filled home.
Add a street, estate or family name to the title and a date to the subtitle, then choose one of five styles; Blueprint and Noir suit the strong coastline. Printed posters ship from partners in more than 30 countries, with an optional wooden frame.
