Sucy-en-Brie lies in the Val-de-Marne, about fifteen kilometres southeast of central Paris, where the Brie plateau drops toward the Marne valley. The map shows this clearly. There is an old village core of narrow, winding streets, newer residential quarters across the higher ground, and large wooded areas on the outskirts that give the town a green, irregular outline.
In the old village stands the seventeenth-century Château de Sucy, set in a park above the valley.
