Dense old core
The centre is a close web of short, winding lanes. On the poster it appears as the darkest part of the map, the part residents know best.

Surkhpur Map Poster & Print
Surkhpur lies in the northeastern part of Pakistani Punjab, on the broad alluvial plain between the rivers that come down from the Himalayan foothills. On a map, the landscape around it is almost entirely flat. That lets the human pattern take over: a tight cluster of streets at the centre, roads leaving it in several directions, and smaller villages scattered across the surrounding fields at fairly even distances.
The streets in the older core are narrow and irregular. They follow property lines and old paths more than any planned grid. Toward the edges, the plan loosens into wider roads and newer plots. Irrigation channels and field tracks cut across the countryside in straight segments, dividing the land into a patchwork that shows up clearly when the map is drawn in only two tones.
A Surkhpur map poster records a kind of place that seldom appears on a wall: a working agricultural town at the scale of its own lanes. It doesn't depend on famous landmarks. The meaning comes from the shape of the settlement, the way the roads link it to its neighbours, and how closely the town fits into the farmland that supports it.

Radiating roads
Several roads leave the town toward nearby settlements. They mark out the routes people use every day for markets, schools and visits to family.
Field geometry
Straight tracks and channels divide the flat plain into irregular rectangles. They make a quiet background texture around the town.

Zakaj Surkhpur
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
For people from Surkhpur who now live in Lahore, the Gulf or Britain, a map of home keeps the lanes and the way out to the fields in view. It makes a considered gift for parents or for a new household starting somewhere else.
The title can show the town name in the spelling your family uses, and the subtitle can carry a date or a dedication. Choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Sand gives the plain a warm tone.
