Taft Map Poster & Print
Taft lies south-west of the city of Yazd in central Iran, at the foot of the Shir Kuh range, one of the highest mountain areas in the region. On a map the town forms a green strip along a valley, where orchards and gardens follow water brought down from the mountains.
Thanks to its higher elevation and water supply, Taft has long been a cooler retreat from the heat of Yazd and is known for its gardens and fruit. The town has also historically been home to a Zoroastrian community, part of the religious heritage of the Yazd region.
A Taft map poster shows the contrast that defines the place: dense garden plots and winding lanes on one side, the bare slopes of the mountains and the flat desert plain on the other. It is a map of an oasis, drawn clearly in black and white.

Gardens and orchards stretch along the valley, creating a narrow band of small plots and lanes that stands out sharply against the surrounding dry land.
Road to Yazd
A main road runs north-east toward Yazd across the open plain, a long, straight line linking the mountain town with the desert city.
