The Jūra river
The river loops through the town in wide, uneven bends, and on the poster it becomes the strongest single line, dividing neighbourhoods and giving the whole composition its sense of direction.

Taurage Map Poster & Print
Seen from above, Taurage is a town defined by its river. The Jūra curves through the built-up area in loose meanders, and the streets arrange themselves around it rather than across it in a strict grid. A small central core of denser blocks gives way quickly to detached houses, allotments and open land, so the town's outline looks soft and irregular against the surrounding countryside.
The town sits in western Lithuania, the administrative centre of Tauragė County and not far from the border with Russia's Kaliningrad region. Its name is widely known to historians through the Convention of Tauroggen, signed nearby in December 1812, when a Prussian corps under General Yorck agreed to stop fighting alongside Napoleon's army. It was a small local agreement that helped turn Prussia against France.
A Taurage map poster reduces the town to its essential lines: the river channel, the roads that meet in the centre, and the finer mesh of residential streets on either bank. In black and white, the contrast between the tight middle and the scattered edges becomes the main subject. The result is quiet and legible, closer to a survey drawing than a tourist map, and it suits a place of this scale.

A small centre
The older middle of town shows as a short cluster of closer-set streets and blocks, where the main roads converge before spreading out again toward the edges and the countryside beyond.
Open edges
Beyond the centre the street pattern loosens into houses with gardens, then fields and patches of forest, so the town's boundary reads as a gradual fade rather than a hard line.

Zakaj Taurage
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
People hang a map of Taurage because they grew up along the Jūra, left for work abroad, or have family in the county. Others know the name from the 1812 convention. A plain map keeps the town recognisable to anyone who has walked its streets, without leaning on photographs or souvenirs.
The poster can be personalised with a title, a subtitle such as a family name or a date, and a coordinates line. Choose from five styles: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Download HD files for $9 in six print sizes, or order a printed matte poster with an optional wooden frame.
