Thekkumkara Map Poster & Print
Thekkumkara is a locality in Thrissur district in central Kerala. Like much of this region, it has no hard edge between town and countryside. Houses, temples, schools and small shops are scattered across a green landscape of coconut groves, paddy fields and waterways. The settlement is spread across the land instead of concentrated in one centre.
On a map this becomes a dense web of narrow lanes. They connect one house plot to the next and wander around fields and ponds. A few larger roads carry through traffic and link the area to nearby towns. The flat paddy land and water channels appear as open spaces between the lanes and give the map a rhythm.
A Thekkumkara map poster shows the characteristic landscape of central Kerala: fine lines of lanes woven among open fields and water. There is no single centre, so the whole sheet has even detail. The print looks almost like lacework, and it holds together well in monochrome.

Paddy land
Open rice fields appear as pale areas between the settled strips. They show the agricultural landscape that shapes the layout of this part of Kerala.
Water channels
Small canals and ponds wind through the fields and between houses. Their soft lines add another layer to the fine texture of the map.
