Uchkeken Map Poster & Print
Uchkeken lies in Karachay-Cherkessia in the North Caucasus of Russia, in the foothills south of the Stavropol region. Its map follows the shape of a valley: streets run parallel to the river along the valley floor, while higher ground rises on either side, limiting how far the settlement can spread.
The surrounding landscape is one of ridges, pastures and open slopes typical of the Caucasus foothills. The region is home to the Karachay people, and villages here have long been shaped by livestock farming and the rhythm of the mountain seasons.
An Uchkeken map poster captures a settlement that is long and narrow, drawn along its river and framed by hills. The linear streets give the composition a clear direction, while the open slopes provide space. It suits families from the region and anyone who knows the valleys of Karachay-Cherkessia.

River line
The river threads through the valley alongside the streets, forming a winding line that anchors the composition and explains its layout.
Foothill ridges
Grassy ridges and slopes rise on both sides, creating open areas that frame the settlement and give the map a sense of terrain.
