Uruapan Map Poster & Print
Uruapan lies on the edge of the Michoacán highlands, where the volcanic plateau begins to descend toward the hot lowlands to the south. The Cupatitzio River rises within the city, in the Barranca del Cupatitzio National Park. This narrow green strip of springs, waterfalls and forest shows on the map as a band of open space pressed right up against the urban streets.
Around the park, the city spreads in a grid of blocks that bends with the rolling terrain, with the historic centre and its main plaza forming the densest part. Beyond the urban edge, the land is covered in avocado orchards, and Uruapan is often called the avocado capital of the world. To the north-west lies Paricutín, the volcano that emerged from a cornfield in 1943.
An Uruapan map poster shows a city where nature cuts right into the urban fabric. In black and white, the national park appears as a slender, empty channel through the streets, the river winds south out of the city, and the surrounding hills set the grid at subtle angles. It is a quiet, graphic tribute to a place of water, volcanic soil and green slopes.

Historic centre
The main plaza and the surrounding colonial blocks form the densest part of the map, a compact grid from which streets extend outward across the uneven terrain.
Orchard country
Past the city limits, the roads thin out into a landscape of avocado orchards and volcanic hills, giving the edges of the frame a looser, rural pattern.
