Ust’-Dzheguta Map Poster & Print
Ust’-Dzheguta lies in Karachay-Cherkessia, in the valley of the Kuban River, where the foothills of the North Caucasus begin to open onto the plain. Its name means the mouth of the Dzheguta, the small river that joins the Kuban here. On the map, the town follows the valley floor, with its streets arranged in a fairly regular grid between the water and the rising slopes.
Near the town, a large water engineering complex controls the Kuban and forms the head of a canal system that carries water toward the Stavropol region. From above it appears as dams, channels and straight canal lines, a striking man-made pattern beside the river's natural braided channels.
An Ust’-Dzheguta map poster shows a place shaped by water and slope. It holds the winding channels of the Kuban, the orderly streets beside it, the canal with its straight embankments and the foothills lining the valley. In black and white, the interplay between river, grid and engineered waterways makes a surprisingly rich composition for a small town.

Canal headworks
Near the town, dams and the start of a major irrigation canal draw straight, deliberate lines across the valley. They contrast with the river's shifting shape.
Grid on the valley floor
The town's streets run in a largely regular pattern across level ground between the river and the hills. This gives the print a clear, structured centre.
