Atlantic shoreline
The coast forms the western frame of the map, a long, clean edge of beach where the street pattern ends and the unmarked ocean takes over the composition.

Valadares Map Poster & Print
Valadares sits on the Atlantic edge of Vila Nova de Gaia, a few kilometres south of the Douro mouth and the centre of Porto. From above, its western limit is drawn by the ocean itself: a long, nearly straight line of sand and rock where the land stops cleanly and the blank space of the sea begins.
Behind the beach the map fills with a mix of older lanes and newer residential blocks, spreading east across low ground toward the inland parishes of Gaia. Roads running parallel to the coast cross streets that lead down to the shore, forming an irregular mesh rather than a planned grid. The main north–south rail line along this coast also passes nearby, adding a firm linear stroke to the drawing.
A Valadares map poster captures a place defined by its closeness to both the sea and the city. The composition is balanced between the open ocean on one side and the dense fabric of greater Porto on the other, which gives the print a clear sense of direction and a quiet, coastal calm.

Streets toward the sea
Short roads run westward from the inland neighbourhoods down to the beach, crossing the coastal routes and giving the map a steady, comb-like rhythm near the shore.
Edge of greater Porto
To the north and east the lines thicken as Valadares merges with the rest of Vila Nova de Gaia, hinting at the larger metropolitan area just beyond the frame.

Zakaj Valadares
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
People who grew up near this stretch of coast, spent summers on its beaches or live in the parish now tend to recognise it instantly from the shape of the shoreline. It suits a hallway, a beach house or a gift for someone who has moved away from Gaia.
The poster can be personalised with your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example a family name or the year you moved in. Choose one of five styles, Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, to suit the room it will hang in.
