Valinda is an unincorporated community in Los Angeles County, in the eastern San Gabriel Valley. From above, it shows a characteristic Southern California pattern. Residential streets form a mix of short grids and curving loops, with houses on regular lots and schools and parks spread through the neighbourhoods.
The community is bounded by larger roads and by its neighbours, including La Puente, West Covina and Hacienda Heights. The land here is fairly flat, and the main arterials cut through in long straight lines, with shopping centres at the major crossings. To the south, the Puente Hills rise and the street pattern gives way to steeper, winding terrain.
