The railway spine
The main line crosses the town diagonally and anchors the whole street plan. The yards and sidings next to it form the widest band of parallel lines on the map.

Vereshchagino Map Poster & Print
Vereshchagino grew up around a station on the railway across Perm Krai, and the map still shows it. The main line cuts through the town, with sidings and yards spreading out beside it. Residential blocks and older wooden-house streets sit on either side in a loose grid. Past the last houses the pattern gives way to fields, dark patches of forest and the thin lines of country roads.
The town is named after the painter Vasily Vereshchagin, known for his battle scenes, who died in 1904. The railway made the town and still shapes it. On the map the line is the clear spine that everything else lines up with: crossings and bridges over the tracks connect the two halves, and the station area is the densest part of the network.
A Vereshchagino map poster shows a pattern common to towns in the Urals foothills. There is a compact built-up core, a straight line of steel through the middle, and open country stretching out on every side. In black and white the contrast between the dense town and the thin rural roads comes through cleanly, so the town's railway origins are plain to see.

Two halves of town
Housing sits on both sides of the tracks. A few crossing points stitch the halves together, and they show up as narrow links between two separate street networks.
Forest edge
Beyond the last streets the map thins out into farm tracks and the unbroken outlines of woodland. This is the typical landscape of the western Urals approaches.

Zakaj Vereshchagino
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
People hang Vereshchagino because it's home, or because the railway once brought them here or carried them away. The map records a real place without decoration: the line, the streets beside it and the countryside all around.
You can change the title and subtitle, add a date that matters to you, and edit the coordinates line. Then pick Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand to suit the room.
