Central grid
The town centre follows a regular grid of streets around the main plaza. In black and white, the repeated blocks create a strong, orderly pattern at the heart of the map.

Villaflores Map Poster & Print
Villaflores is in the Frailesca region of Chiapas, a stretch of the state's central depression known for agriculture, especially maize. From above, the town is laid out in the rectilinear grid typical of Mexican towns. Straight streets run in two directions from a central plaza, and the blocks are fairly even until the grid starts to loosen at the edges.
Around the town, the land opens into cultivated plains and rolling ground, with the hills of the Sierra Madre de Chiapas rising further off. Roads leave Villaflores towards the nearby towns of the valley and towards Tuxtla Gutiérrez. On the map they cut through the field pattern in long, slightly curving lines.
A Villaflores map poster shows the steady order of the grid set against the looser shapes of farmland. The plaza at the centre, the even blocks and the roads leading out to the fields tell the story of a working agricultural town. It is a clean, balanced composition that reads well at every print size.

Frailesca farmland
Fields spread out on every side of the town. Their irregular parcels contrast with the straight urban grid and show the agricultural setting that defines the region.
Roads through the valley
Main roads connect Villaflores with other Frailesca towns and with the state capital. They stretch across the map as long, confident lines out of the grid.
