Planned block grid
Large residential blocks form a regular, compact pattern. It is a typical Soviet plan built for a cold climate, and it looks like a small geometric island.

Vorgashor Map Poster & Print
Vorgashor is a settlement north of the Arctic Circle in the Komi Republic, part of the group of mining communities around Vorkuta. On a map, it appears as a small, tight grid of large residential blocks. Open tundra surrounds it on every side, and the settlement ends abruptly with no suburbs or scattered houses.
It was built in the late Soviet period to serve a nearby coal mine, and the plan shows that origin. The layout is orderly, with wide spaces between buildings, a few main streets and utility lines leading out to the industrial sites. A road connects Vorgashor to the ring of settlements that loops around Vorkuta, and it stands out clearly against the empty land.
A Vorgashor map poster is minimal by nature. There is a small, dense centre, one or two connecting roads, and a large amount of blank space for the tundra. That emptiness is what gives the image its strength, especially for people who remember the long winters and the polar day.

Ring road link
A road connects the settlement to the loop around Vorkuta. It is one of the few long lines on the map and runs across otherwise empty tundra.
Open tundra
No forests, farms or suburbs surround the town. The surrounding area appears almost empty, which gives the print a stark and quiet look.

Zakaj Vorgashor
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
Vorgashor matters to former miners, their families and anyone who grew up above the Arctic Circle and later moved away. The small, orderly shape against empty space is a sober and memorable reminder of the north.
You can edit the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a year of arrival, a family name or a mine shift. There are five styles: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Noir strongly suits the polar night.
