Residential loops
Curving streets and cul-de-sacs branch off the main roads in small clusters, giving the inland part of the map a soft, organic texture rather than a strict grid.

West Scarborough Map Poster & Print
West Scarborough sits in the inland part of Scarborough, a short drive south of Portland. From above, the map shows a loose pattern of residential loops and cul-de-sacs off a few through roads. Between them, stretches of woodland and open ground break the grid into irregular pieces. It reads less like a town centre and more like a patchwork of neighbourhoods tied together by longer connecting routes.
Farther toward the coast, the lines change character. Scarborough Marsh, the largest salt marsh in Maine, spreads its creeks and channels across the lowland. On a black-and-white print these tidal threads look almost like hand-drawn veins. They make a clear contrast with the tidier suburban streets further inland, and the whole area sits within the wider sweep of Maine's shoreline.
A West Scarborough map poster keeps that balance between built-up and open land. Road names and densely packed blocks give way to calmer white space where wetland and forest take over. The result is a map with room to breathe, suited to people who know the area by its drives, its commutes and the way the land flattens toward the sea.

Salt marsh edge
Toward the coast, the channels of Scarborough Marsh wind through low ground, forming fine branching lines that stand out clearly in monochrome.
Open woodland
Wide gaps between neighbourhoods, left by forest and undeveloped land, give the composition generous negative space and a calm, uncluttered look.
