Westerly Map Poster & Print
Westerly occupies the south-western corner of Rhode Island, where the Pawcatuck River forms the border with Connecticut and flows into Little Narragansett Bay. The downtown sits on the river opposite the village of Pawcatuck. On a map the two form a single riverside settlement divided by a state line and joined by bridges across the water.
South of downtown the town reaches the Atlantic. Watch Hill, at the tip, is a small historic resort village known for its Victorian summer houses and the Flying Horse Carousel, one of the oldest in the country. From there Napatree Point curls out as a thin sandy spit. To the east, the long, straight barrier beach of Misquamicut stretches along the shore.
Westerly was also known for its granite, quarried here in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries and used for monuments across the United States. A Westerly map poster brings together the river border, the compact downtown, the salt ponds behind the beaches and the curling spit of Napatree in a composition full of water and detail.

Misquamicut and the ponds
