Upper Ruhr bends
The Ruhr is still a modest river here. Its curves, and the meadows beside it, form the central line of the whole composition.

Wickede Map Poster & Print
Wickede lies in the upper Ruhr valley in North Rhine-Westphalia, in the Soest district. The river enters the map from the east and bends westward past the town. The valley floor is narrow enough that roads and the railway stay close to the water, which gives the map a clear east–west flow.
The built-up area climbs out of the valley toward higher ground on both sides, and the streets thin out as the slopes steepen. Wooded hills sit to the south, toward the Sauerland, while open, gentler land lies to the north on the Hellweg side. The town changes character between its river side and its upland side.
This is a small community, so its map is about landforms more than landmarks. A Wickede map poster shows a stretch of the Ruhr far from the big industrial cities downstream: a river valley, a few crossings and neighbourhoods that follow the lie of the land.

Valley transport corridor
The rail line and main roads run alongside the river through the valley. These parallel lines give the poster a clear sense of direction.
Streets climbing the slopes
Residential streets leave the valley floor and curve with the contours. The pattern shifts from dense to scattered as the ground rises.

Zakaj Wickede
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
For people from the Ruhr valley, a map of Wickede is a reminder of home. It shows the river, the railway and the streets on the slope. The layout is calm and balanced, and it works well in a kitchen, a hallway or above a desk.
You can give the poster your own title and subtitle and add a date to the coordinates line. The five styles cover everything from a crisp Classic black and white to the warmer Paper and Sand.
