Village lanes
Clusters of narrow, closely packed lanes survive from the area's village origins and show up as fine hatching among the larger, regular blocks around them.

Wushipai Map Poster & Print
Wushipai lies in the western part of Shenzhen, Guangdong, close to the shoreline where the city meets the Pearl River estuary. On a map it reads as dense urban fabric: tight blocks of older village housing sit among wide modern avenues, and the grid often breaks where one development ends and the next begins. Straight expressways and the geometric edges of reclaimed land show how quickly this coast has changed.
The area reflects the Shenzhen pattern seen across the city. Former villages were absorbed into the metropolis and kept their fine-grained lanes, while newer districts around them were laid out at a much larger scale. From above, the difference is easy to see: small, crowded cells of streets surrounded by broad, orderly superblocks.
A Wushipai map poster turns that density into texture. With colour and signage stripped away, the drawing becomes a study in contrasts: narrow alleys next to multi-lane roads, irregular old plots beside the precise lines of reclaimed shoreline. It is a portrait of a neighbourhood in one of the fastest-growing cities of recent decades.

Reclaimed shoreline
Toward the estuary, the coastline follows straight engineered edges rather than natural curves, a clear sign of the land reclamation that shaped western Shenzhen.
Arterial roads
Wide avenues and expressways cut through the district in long, confident lines, framing the denser pockets and linking them to the rest of the city.
