Xitole Map Poster & Print
Xitole lies in the Bafatá region in the interior of Guinea-Bissau. The landscape here is a mix of savanna, woodland and river valleys, and from above the town appears as a small cluster of streets and compounds surrounded by open country and dirt roads leading to neighbouring villages.
The region is crossed by the Corubal river, one of the country's main waterways, and much of the land around Xitole is used for farming. Roads connecting the town to Bafatá and other centres form the main lines on the map, with smaller tracks spreading out into the surrounding countryside.
A Xitole map poster shows a place that is small in scale but clearly defined in its setting. The simple street pattern, the roads radiating outward and the broad natural landscape around it create a composition that is sparse, balanced and specific to this part of West Africa.

Radiating roads
Roads and tracks lead out from the town towards neighbouring villages and regional centres, forming lines that structure the whole composition.
River country
The Bafatá region is shaped by rivers such as the Corubal, and the surrounding landscape of valleys and woodland gives the map a natural, open character.
