Valley streets
Main roads follow the lower ground between hills, so the town's layout stretches along valleys instead of forming a simple square grid.

Youting Map Poster
Youting lies in the western part of Chongqing municipality, in the hilly country of the Sichuan Basin. The ground here is rarely flat, and on a map the town follows the lie of the land. Streets run along valleys and around low hills, and new blocks of housing fill the more level spaces between them.
Outside the built-up area, the landscape breaks into a fine pattern of terraced fields, ponds, village clusters and winding rural roads. A Youting map poster shows how a growing town fits into this folded terrain, with irregular countryside surrounding a denser centre of modern streets and older lanes.
Western Chongqing has changed rapidly in recent decades, with expressways, new districts and industrial parks linking smaller towns to the megacity. Towns like Youting reflect that mix of rural surroundings and urban growth. Their maps capture a moment in that transformation, with fresh road lines laid over older patterns of fields and paths.

Terraced countryside
Fields and ponds shaped to the slopes create a dense, organic texture around the town, one of the most characteristic sights of the Sichuan Basin from above.
New development
Newer blocks with wider roads and larger plots sit beside the older centre, giving the map a visible line between past and present growth.
