Dense historic core
The centre is a close weave of short, bending lanes. In black and white it forms the darkest patch of the map, and newer blocks spread out around it.

Zaouiet Sousse Map Poster & Print
Zaouiet Sousse sits in the Tunisian Sahel, a short distance south of the city of Sousse, in the low coastal country that runs down the eastern side of the country. From above, the town reads as a tight cluster of short, irregular streets. A few main roads pass through it and connect it to its neighbours across a landscape that is flat or only gently rolling.
The name points to a zaouia, a Sufi lodge of the kind around which many Sahel settlements grew. That origin still shows in the plan: the oldest part of town is a knot of narrow passages, and the later housing spreads outward in looser blocks. On a map the change from old to new is easy to follow, even without labels.
Around the built area the map thins into a field pattern shaped by olive cultivation, which has defined this part of Tunisia for centuries. A Zaouiet Sousse map poster captures that balance between a close-knit centre and open, orderly countryside, drawn in fine lines that make the density of the old lanes clear.

Olive country edges
Beyond the last houses the lines open into long, regular parcels, the working landscape of the Sahel, which frames the town on every side.
Links to Sousse
Roads leading north tie the town to Sousse and to the coast, so the poster reads as one piece of a larger, well-connected region.
