Valley-floor streets
The town's streets fill the flatter ground along the valley. They create a long, narrow cluster whose shape comes directly from the surrounding hills.

Zhoubai Map Poster & Print
Zhoubai lies in the hilly southeast of Chongqing Municipality, where ridges and deep valleys shape every settlement. From above, the streets follow the valley floor and fit into whatever flat ground is available. Roads wind around the slopes and connect the town to neighbouring valleys, as they do throughout this mountainous part of China.
That terrain gives the map an elongated, flowing shape instead of a compact grid. Buildings gather where the land flattens out, and the main roads follow the contours rather than climbing straight up. The empty areas on the map are mostly hillsides too steep to build on.
A Zhoubai map poster shows how strongly geography shapes a town. The dense streets form a narrow band, the winding roads trace the lines of the valleys, and the white space around them suggests the mountains without drawing them. It is a quiet and distinctive picture of a place set among ridges.

Contour-following roads
The approach roads bend and loop to follow the slopes. On the poster they draw curved lines that hint at the terrain without any shading.
Steep empty slopes
Large areas of blank paper mark the hillsides around the town. They frame the settlement and give the composition a strong sense of enclosure.

Zakaj Zhoubai
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
Zhoubai is a personal choice for people from southeastern Chongqing, whether they still live there or have moved to the big cities. The flowing, valley-shaped layout also makes a good graphic image on its own terms.
You can set the title, subtitle and coordinates line to a family name, a date or the town's Chinese name. The five styles are Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Noir makes the winding roads stand out clearly.
