Ad Dawādimī sits on the high Najd plateau in the western part of Riyadh Region, on the long road that runs west from the capital toward the Hejaz. From above, it reads as a compact town of straight streets and walled plots. Around it lies open ground where the street network simply stops and the desert takes over, broken only by tracks and scattered farms.
The shape is typical of modern Najdi towns: a gridded core laid out around a few wide arterial roads, with newer districts added in rectangular blocks toward the edges. Highways enter from several directions and give the plan its strongest lines. Around the town the terrain is dry and rocky, with low ridges and wadis that appear on a map only as the gaps between roads.
